Sep 07

When a student is given an assignment as an achievement for continuation of their candidature, it is often mandatory to show how they will complete their investigation in the allocated time within the synopsis or plan. Thus, a synopsis or plan is a vital component for estimating the overall duration of completion of a particular assignment. It also serves as the basis of planning skill for the student. However, the skill can be a bit overpowering in the initial stages, and that it is usually not brought into the process. This is where a supervisor‘s help is required, as she or he has several techniques to develop this skill. The supervisor also adds to the student’s knowledge base in order to complete the assignment in the right way and at the right time.

In order to take help from the designated supervisor, a student needs to have a deep-rooted trust in the supervisor. Further, she or must not be afraid of the supervisor, which can actually prevent the student from taking any help. It is true that some supervisors may be unapproachable, but you need to remember that your supervisor needs you. This is because your performance is the key to the supervisor’s success.

As a student, you must be able to accept for being pushed towards the best efforts. If a supervisor is making you work hard, it does not mean that you are being troubled. It simply means that the supervisor is making you do your best! Moreover, you must take responsibility for the entire assignment as well as respect mutual agreements. Consult your supervisor as if you are ready to take any challenge to give your best shot. The supervisor should not feel at any time that you are putting all your responsibilities on her or him. If this is felt, the supervisor will surely become ignorant towards you and you will not get the desired help.

In case of any problem, never try to hide it. Always try to solve it on your own, first. In case you cannot solve or becomes a serious matter, always inform the supervisor as soon as possible and ask solutions as well as extra recommendations. You should also ask for additional training, if required. In no way should the supervisor know about your problem from someone else.

It is also important to be positive. When things do not work, keep a positive attitude, which has a lot of significance for your supervisor. Always communicate with suggestions or queries, not complaints and grievances.
