This often has an adverse effect on a student’s learning So here are few tips to ensure that grades don’t affect a student’s learning.

  1. Encouragement towards excellence: Excellence here is in the terms of knowledge acquired. Grades don’t mirror a student’s potential. They just inform of the writing aptitude. A student should be encouraged to acquire more knowledge, knowledge that is to be implemented.
  1. Value learning, not the grades: More often than not, students only learn to get better results. After the examination, they tend to forget everything pertaining to the subject. So, it is paramount for a teacher to instill the value of learning in students. A student’s job is to acquire knowledge, grades are just the performance review of its implementation.
