Infrastructure Projects Developed using BIM Modelling Services in India
Dec 22
Lately, AEC (Architecture, Engineering and Construction) professionals have been more efficient in planning, designing, constructing and managing buildings and infrastructure. This has become possible with intelligence based modeling services through BIM (Building Information Modelling). BIM has changed the picture of the construction industry and has reduced errors to a large extent. Advancement of BIM modeling services from 3D animation to 4D animation to 5D animation has given a new vision to owners, architects, contractors and other professionals related to the industry. Quality of infrastructure facilities will be improved with respect to safety standards and ability to withstand natural disasters.
Few of the infrastructure projects that are developed or being developed using BIM modelling services in India are-rapid transit system in the city of Amritsar, Punjab, few 4 star hotel and airport terminal construction done in Chennai, a few corporate offices in Noida and latest one is a Nagpur Metro Rail project.
For the first time in India, 5D BIM modeling service has been used in such a big project of Metro Rail for seeing the light at the end of the tunnel in the Nagpur Metro Rail Network. It is one of its kind of projects development in Central part of India. BIM modelling services in India has been provided by a Mumbai-based company for this project. With the use of Enterprise Resource Planning and 5D BIM simulation service, Nagpur Metro Rail Corporation Limited (NMRCL) will be able to have a complete view of the project even before it is physically built. This will help NMRCL to visualize risks, hindrances and thus, provide immediate mitigation to expedite the project for timely completion and run. The reason for adopting 5D BIM modelling services was advanced technology. 3D BIM is just the process wherein graphical and non-graphical information is created and shared on common environment, in 4D BIM an extra dimension of scheduling the data is an add-on which helps in visualizing the progress of project in a sequence, thus, time of each step of construction stage is measured with 4D BIM. As compared to 3D and 4D BIM, in 5D BIM even costs can be derived, measured and calculated for various stages of construction.
With above-stated advancement in adapting to the latest technology in construction sector, it is evident that India will soon gain its pace in implementing BIM modeling services for the larger architectural projects. Quality of infrastructure facilities will be improved with respect to safety standards and ability to withstand natural disasters.
A resourceful blog!!
Would consider using the BIM model soon.
